About 8-10 pounds. I have read a few different things about how you should normally gain weight. The one I have been trying to measure by is, that you gain about 5 pounds in the first trimester and about a pound a week after that. But of course every pregnancy is different. Obviously some people lose weight and then some people go for long periods without gaining anything and then all of a sudden gain a whole bunch all at once or they gain alot at first and then go for a long time gaining nothing. I have been lower and higher than that average but I'm trying to make sure I dont go too far over the average. I have been over at one point by 1-2 pounds but no more than that. I am now 25 weeks and I have gained 18 pounds so far. So right now I'm right on track! Good Luck with the pregnancy!

Every pregnancy is different. I think I had gained about 13 lbs, and I put on the remaining 15 the next 19 as I had my first 3 weeks early (induced) due to toxemia. My other pregnancies I only gained 7 lbs each.

Well I gained like 10 lbs by then with my first (girl), but I lost 11 lbs at that point with my second child (boy), but shortly after I started to gain weight. I just depends on how your hormones react to pregnancy. My daughter weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and my son weighed 8 lbs 3 oz.
Take care.

I had gained almost 20 pounds with both of my pregnancies. I am 5'6" and weigh 110lbs (not pregnant), so I always gain about 45 lbs with my pregnancies. I lose the weight, too (nursing is the BEST exerecise). My doctor told me that how much weight you gain depends on how much weight you need to gain.

So far, I've gained about 7 pounds. 2 pounds every 4 weeks is considered average.
With my first child, I only gained about 4 pounds by 18 weeks and my doc yelled at me for not gaining enough... then I gained 13 in one month (Bad me! Ben & Jerry's BAD!!!), and my doc yelled at me for gaining too much too fast!

I was really lucky, actually. I only gained 8 kilos (about 17.6 pounds) with my first bub, and 1 kilo (2.2 pounds) with my second. Second pregnancy I lost a lot of weight, especially after I had to have my appendix removed when I was five months along.
I thought for sure I'd gain about 30 kilos, so I was very happy :)
