It depends entirely on the reasons i had for being rude in the first place.
Sometimes rudeness is the only way to get through to people. It should be considered a last resort.
But you can only repeat yourself or try to make your point clear so many times before something just snaps.
However, reassessing the situation is always a good idea. You could find out that you were actually in the wrong and apologize.
