A diploma for being a Pharmacy technician is a waste of time and money. Most pharmacies will train you. You don't need one to be a pharm tech. In Illinois, all you need is a high school diploma. I don't know NY rules.
Pharmacies will pay you more if you are certified, not if you have a diploma. Starting pay for an uncertified, no experience tech is $8-$9 per hour, and starting pay for certified, no experience tech is $10-$11 per hour. I have never heard of a Pharm tech making more than $15 per hour. Buy a PTCB review book and teach yourself and get a job at a local pharmacy.
Also, no one takes a diploma from an online school seriously.
