I belong to those people where it worked.
Even I have very dry, sensitive skin, I had an acne problem for years. I went to the dermatologist, I tried everything, but most of the creams and lotions which made my pimples go away, made my skin even dryer and itchy.
I saw Pro active on TV, yes, cheesy, but I thought "f....it", it cannot get worse.
I tried and now for over 2 years I have skin like a peach, no pimples, no itchy, no nothing.

The only worthwhile thing about the Pro-Active is the Refining Mask, but the entire system really sucks. For me, and for a lot of my friends, no part of Pro-Active really works. Your mom should take your brother to a dermatologist, a professional who can easily help. It may cost a bit at the moment, but for the money saved in the long run, coming from someone who has tried everything, skipping on Pro-Active and going straight to the derm will be really beneficial.

I got the Pro-Activ trial kit and it did nothing for me. The only thing that worked extremely well was the facial mask. The products all smelled great, but for me it didn't show the results that were on T.V.
Plus, when we bought it they signed us up for the life-time month club membership that cost $40 a month. I don't think it was worth it.
If you want some products that really work, check out the Equate line of facial care at Wal-Mart. They work extremely well for me!

well it can work, but it's really about the same strength as a lot of over the counter stuff (not as strong as something prescribed by a dermet.) proactive can work very well for people, so it's not that it doesn't work...... it just gets a lot of publicity because it is celebrity endorsed and therefore people get the misconception that it is a 'wonder product' when really it isnt......
i used proactive for like 3 years every day and my skin stayed clear until one day it went crazy and proactive could no longer help. (my skin stopped reacting to it all together bc of prolonged use.) i went to a dermet. and the stuff they prescribed cleared it all up.

I tried all of the generic three step systems, and they did not work as well as proactiv. Even a prescription didn't help me as much. I have used it for 5 years, and it still is amazing! I didn't get one zit through pregnancy, postpartem, and new birth control hormone changes. It's celeberty endorsed because it works! If it didn't, it wouldn't attract attention.

It's active ingredient is peroxide so if you have never tried that type of treatment it may work for you. The system is not that expensive if you buy the smaller bottles just to try it out.

that type of acne treatment usually does work, but it doesnt have to be proactiv. there are many 3 step treatments that work almost exactly the same as proactiv at half the price. the one ive found thats closest to proactiv is one called acnefree, and u can find it at places like costco and sams club. its basically just a generic version of proactiv.

Not me. It just made my face dry and flaky. After I stopped using it I broke out even more. Just go to a dermatologist to see which products are best for you.
