If you were fired The paycheck must be issued to you by days end. If you quit, then it has to be by your next Normal PayDay.
It's the LAW !

Should be what would have been your next payday.
Unless you were fired. Then they must pay you on the spot, if you have to wait, they must pay you for the time you were waiting.
That is usually why they give a full days pay for the day you were fired.
