Can't you just see the people around you having that "Got to get OUT of here" expressins on their faces, forgetting why they are there in the first place, becoming frusterated with the long lines at checkout....

Are you ballsy enough to try to cheer the line -- 'lines' --- back to the festivity of the Holiday by singing out loud a tune that is a reminder of what we are celebrating?

Why or why not?

As a matter of fact, I already do that. Most stores play Christmas songs on their overhead and I LOVE christmas and christmas songs so I sing to them anyway. I love to sing and I don't really care where I'm at, I'll sing regardless. I work in retail and we play Christmas songs and I sing them alll day long. The customers and employees don't seem to mind, some even like when I do it and some join in. IT'S CHRISTMAS AND IT'S FUN! lol I don't really care if I look like a dork, I'm having fun and it's not doing any harm. I fully recommend others try it, lighten up and do something fun :)

I'd probably make a joke instead to lighten the mood. I'm not a Scrooge type, but with Christmas music piped into every store from October on, I wouldn't risk singing a Christmas carol and irritating people even more. I personally am "carolled-out" by November 1st. Besides, laughter can take the edge off almost anything.

Yes,

And I would start kind of quietly and see if any kids were interested and then get a group going.

I would try to hide that this was your intention and enjoy the spirit!

Merry Christmas.

I work with kids and try to get them singing all the time.

That is so corny. Just like the commercial where the people are snowed in at the airport, and this mother pulls out this little Christmas singing thing from hallmark and all the other people gather around her. Yeah fukkin right!

I don't think singing while in a frustrated line would be the best option. It could either lead to:

A. People telling you to shut up.
B. People giving you weird looks, making you feel embarrassed.
C. People giving you free fruit cakes.

Either way all three are evil. Yes, fruit cakes are evil and aren't condoned.

No. The last time I sang in public, I had forgotten to turn off my pulpit mike. Between services the deacons took me aside and begged, ordered, pleaded with me to never let my singing be heard by mortal ears again. So...no shopping singing. I'll look forward to hearing you though.

I'd do it. Because hey, the holidays shouldn't be entangled with
a bunch of deadlines. People forget the true importance.

That is totally something that me and my friends would do. We would sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" really loud and people would look at us like we were high, LMAO.

We probably would be high, though... xD
