The movie is a slasher flick that takes place around Christmas. It is a remake of a creepy slasher flick from 1974. It will be released on Christmas Day?
Does this bother or offend you as some christian groups are claiming it should? I'm curious...

I personally, find nothing wrong with it being released on Christmas Day because I know that there are many people who view the day as just another day. I am Christian and I plan to see it opening day. ISometimes, these "over protective" christian groups come off more as if they have nothing better to do and it seems lately the only thing that doesn't offend them is Church (which is odd considering how controversial churches have been recently...)

'Black Christmas' is certainly not the first horror movie to be released on Christmas Day (I believe one of the Hellraiser movies came out on CD and didn't one of the 'Scream's?). Anyway, I watch the original 'Black Christmas 2 days ago, and other than tinsel and decorations inside a sorority house, there's not much mention of Christmas at all. The killer and killing have nothing at all to do with Chrismas. DO NOT READ FURTHER IF OFFENDED BY SEMI-SPOILER!

I'm Christian. I don't quite understand why they would open Christmas Day--I wasn't even aware most movie theaters were open anyway but I don't have any radical view either way.

I don't plan to see it. I'm going to be enjoying time with my family instead. Perhaps there are people out there who will go see it--I don't know. I guess it just doesn't make sense to me.

other movies have been released on x-mas. just because of the genre, they decide to protest. if they're gonna b against movie releases on a "holy day" they should not just pick and choose. They're very selective in what they protest, just like they're are selective in what parts of the religion they choose to follow. Not everyone in America is Christian!!

Horror movies are becoming more and more stupid along with the people who make them,a violent Christmas themed movie on Christmas day???let alone its gonna be a traveling and enjoyable week.I doubt itll be a hit, maybe it would be if it came after or before Christmas,it looks pretty stupid, not just of the name but I mean, how antichrist of them.I mean what are they thinking?

i don't even understand why christmas is a "christian" holiday. what, you guys really think jesus was born on december 25th? lol. to me christmas was always about giving and receiving gifts with my family, it doesn't have to be religious.

horror movie on christmas = good. people bored with the holiday can have some fun seeing a new movie.
