It appears to be largely (pardon the pun) due to the "supersizing" addiction.

I remember one of the first McDonald's opening in Montreal. Within a decade, the obesity level in children appeared to have increased.

Our portions and plate sizes have increased, as has our penchant for fast foods, high in fats and carbohydrates.

I'm certiain that if you "google" obesity, you'll get tons (another pun) of hits! Good Luck!!!

Because everything has been turned into a giant convenience and it is super easy to get your hands on high calorie food. Unfortunately people also do not realize the benefits of exercise or are just to lazy to exercise even though it is so easy! It's sad, really sad.

Not enough time, not enough money. Also, ignorance in how to eat the right way. Many people believe that to eat healthy, you cannot be satisfied, which is oh so wrong. Another thing is that people don't do as much physical stuff anymore due to technology.

I'm a runner..and if you're a runner..you don't really have to be concerned about getting fat ;)

In terms of highly rapid productivity of production or goods and services, with inputing highly sophisticated machinery to do the job, all the human labour will need to do is operating it. Therefore with excess production of goods and services per head, it allows more consumption and more spending. Which is why it leads to obesity.

McDonald's and Taco Bell. A report I read said the ingredients in Taco Bell's beef made it unacceptable to put in a can of dog food! It's not "FAST FOOD", it's "FAT FOOD".
