Sometimes they can be a *****, but he's right, a pipe wrench is the right tool. It seals onto the showers arm with a rubber washer so when you screw on the new one, you won't have to screw it on as tihgt as the old one. when you put it on, don't use a pipe wrench or you will get "teeth marks" all around the new one. Sometimes heat (blow dryer) will help to loosen it to.

Spray the threaded part of the old shower heads with WD-40, let it soak in for a minute or two, then try the pipe wrench. They should loosen with little trouble.

Ann do becareful when yourself takes showerhead off:
make sure that watermain is shut down first then use WD40
to loossen it refer http://www.showercloset/repairs.com after that
use 12inch cresant wrench slowly undoing item dont cross thread but keep even ok ?

Pipe wrench. Use it as close to where the shower head connects to the water pipe. Stablize the pipe with your other hand. Tonite people...I want you to study the next chapter on plungers and there will be a quiz. Those of you who have plungers please practice.

you have the old fashion one that has the ball made on the neck.change out the neck and then you can use any shower head.

apply kerosine or wd 40 and then tighten it so that if there is slip screw it will sit properly then remove the same
