Admissions counselors usually need at least a bachelor's degree. There isn't one particular major that you have to focus on, just get some experience in college/postsecondary experiences. I have worked in a college for several years an educational coordinator and now as a career counselor; and my bachelor's was in public health and my first master's was in public affairs. I would say do some internships with an admission's counselor, and maybe think about classes or majors in sociology, psychology, etc. that assist you with understanding and working with people in differing situations.

i'd imagine that once they do seem at your software and note that you're considering journalism, they'll seem at your software extra heavily. you want to jot down your admissions essay and then proofread it your self. you need to truly have your English instructor proofread it (when you're in intense college) or someone you comprehend that has somewhat good Grammar and technical aspects of the English language. Being a instructor, no longer English, i imagine you want to artwork a minimum of a week on purely your admissions essay. for my area, if i replaced into on an admissions committee and someone grew to change into-in an essay to me and it wasn't that giant, then i'd in-turn imagine that they were no longer that severe about the college that i'm on the committee for.

none because you can advise students all day long and they will do whatever they want. I have an advisor in my division and he doesn't have a clue to which direction students want to go and anybody can be that.
