What would happen if Allen Iverson got traded to a team on the WEST and becomes one of the leading vote getters for the EAST All-Star Team???

He would have to play for the east, reasons... they wouldnt take someone out the West just to put AI in... would seem unfair.. so most likley he will have to play for the East or just not play at all this all star weekend. After all its just an all star game, its not like its a championship game. good question.

This is a great question! Iverson currently leads all guards in the Eastern All-Star balloting. Only one other player was traded to another team while leading the league in All-Star ballots (Vince Carter from Toronto to New Jersey), however, this didn't really complicate the situation as Carter was traded still in the East.

In the case of Iverson, let's say he lands in Minnesota. What would happen then? I believe that the votes would retroactive and if he does lead in the balloting for guards in the West (Kobe and T-Mac, watch out), I believe Iverson would be paired up with Kobe Bryant as the lead guards of the Western conference All-Stars.

He would still play for the East since the voting began while he was still on the Sixers.
