Yes I do. And it is not a matter of loosing control of my temper. it is more a matter of finding an outlet for the powerful emotions I am feeling.
I don't break just anything! I don't hurt people or animals. I keep my destruction to cheap stuff . Like a couple of plates. Smashing a plate on the garage floor can feel very satisfying. After ward I cheerfully clean up my own mess.
I am one of those people whose hurt is demonstrated by anger. Anger and frustration make me want to break something. I have tried screaming into pillows and punching a bag but when I reach a certain point I need to break something.
I guess I am symbolically breaking my pain and anger.

No, I don't. I meditate if I get to feeling that bad. (Much less expensive). I used to date a guy that smashed things. One time we were watching movies and I said I was tired and just wanted to go to sleep and not watch the movie. He got so mad that I wouldn't watch the movie with him that he threw the VCR down and smashed it through the glass-top coffee table. What a moron! It was after he threw a full can of pop at me that I decided to take off for good!
Smashing things is for kids or immature people who need to learn to control their anger, not for civilized human beings.
