No this does not cause miscarriages. The majority of womens uterus are tipped forward, there are some women whose uterus are tipped backward like mine and this does NOT cause miscarriage. It is compared to being right or left handed is how we explain it to patients.

This helps explain what is a tipped uterus. I've always had it and I was diagosed with endometriosis. I figure that's why.
This has pictures that shows what and how retroverted and an anteverted uterus looks like.

Hope this helps!

Usually the uterus isn't "tipped to the side," it's tilted towards a woman's back. This is a slight, though not life-altering abnormality. It can, however, mean a few things:
1) It can make it harder for a woman to get pregnant. This is extreme cases where the uterus is tilted so far back that it practically blocks off the vaginal canal, making it hard for sperm to penetrate and fertilize an egg
2) Two words: BACK LABOR! When a woman w/ a tilted uterus is delivering, there can be INTENSE pressure placed on the tailbone, sometimes even causing it to break! It's *extremely* painful and CANNOT be lessened by an epidural!!
But I haven't heard anything that would indicate the angle of the uterus causing miscarriages.

No, I don't believe that to be true. My uterus is/was slanted/tilted back and I've had two healthy children. Pregnancy often helps to align your uterus, or so I was told by my physician.

No. Spontaneous miscarriages are usually the bodies way of eliminating a genetically unsound matching of sex chromosomes that have produced a nonviable organism.
