did a lab with silver nitrate and copper...found that displacement occurred. just thinking, what would happen if it were just plain silver and copper nitrate?

No reaction would occur. Silver is lower than copper on the activity series of metals, so no replacement reaction would occur.

yep, i agree with the second answer...no reaction will occur..considering the reaction, if copper was able to displace silver in solution, then that means copper is more active than silver...so silver cannot replace copper in solution:)
