Yeah, but you won't get the full enjoyment out of it. The only thing you really need to know is that Sosuke is living across from Kaname to keep an eye on her, and he goes to her school, even though he has no social skills or tact whatsoever. Tessa is his chief commander, and she has a bit of a crush on him, though she's only in for a couple of episodes anyway. Its twelve episodes [some are actually broken down into two 15-minute episodes that go together] and we just got through watching it last night, and we enjoyed it. You should be good, and hopefully you'll get a good laugh out of it..

Not really, but it wont be as funny, since you wont know sousuke's character or anyone from Mithril, and you wont know what an AS is. Just go to youtube and watch teh first season and then watch fumoffu, then watch teh second raid. If you want to know sousuke is a military nut, i mean a nut, hes insane, its shoot and blow up first and ask questions later, i mean it expecailly when hes protecting Kaname, love isnt shown too much until the second season and thats at the end. Fumoffu is just comedy no action, also u wont know kaname's character, which is crazy, she has a huge temper, but only to sousuke, to otherwise shes everyones best friend. I almost forgot, sousuke has a knack for carrying guns, i mean it, in episode 1 or was it 2 of fumoffu, u really get to see this, he pulls out a lrage pile of guns, ammo, and explosives out of his clothes, and i think there was a rocket launcher....

yes, because the story from full metal panic and full metal panic fumoffu is completely different. you can understand the story of fmp fumoffu without watching fmp.
maybe you should only know the characteristics of each character in fmp in order to understand their emotions.

I watched all of Fumoffu before i even watched the last episodes of the first FMP. So I find it nothing wrong about watching it without seeing the first one. To be truthfull. Fumofuu is more funnier than the first one. Because thats all it does; make you laugh.

I did do watch Fumoffu without watching the whole original series.
You could get confused with who the characters are....But you'll definitely enjoy Fumoffu!
