it had 3 or 5 kids trying to find treasure or something. in every episode there was a phoniex that rose from the ashes then died at the end of every show it aired mid to late 80's thanks

there where 3-5 kids and a old man with a phoenix no it's not g-force or battle of the planets they were looking for a lost city or something.... in one show they where in a pryamid and the walls started to close in

Never saw it, and I watched a *lot* of 80's TV. Closest thing is 'Battle of the Planets' derived from the Japanese Team Gatchaman - it had 5 teens who piloted a craft called the Phoenix.
But I don't think that's the series you were looking for.
