For trapping moles in the garden -- are their runs always near the surface or do they have deeper burroughs?

yes, they are tricky...they do have runs just below the surface, but they also go deep...i've battled them in my yard for four years now....poisons, traps...you name it..i've killed some with traps and had fun with smoke bombs, but they are really a pain...

I've always got them in the runs about 2 inches below the surface
