You can have his name placed on the birth certificate without his signature. All you have to do is fill out the form as for who the father is.

Check with the hospital and see if he has to be present. I don't think he does, actually - military men overseas become fathers all the time, even thousands of miles away from the birth.

Your answers are really good. But, makes not a lot of sense to me. What if the case was "the father is deceased"? How will the father sign? Heck, that's not really a question - consult your mother. That's my best advise.

that child is off to a great start! anyway, if he has to sign it, talk to his lawyer if he has one, or the court house. you need to think of this baby's future. we don't know what he's in for, and it's not really our business, but you need to make sure that this child can be taken care of, physically, financially, and emotionally. i know that the baby is his (right?), but if he is in for something serious, he might not be able to provide for the child if he gets out. do you have a back-up plan on how to take care of the child on your own? start thinking.

He has to sign it. Talk to the jail and see what options they come up with... also the courthouse may let you come in at a later date to have him sign... Good luck!

He has to sign it. Id ask my doctor how to go about it, or call your local court house.
