They can be much reasons
1- Connection speed (requieres T1 connection for example)
2- Patch needed (For example: Warcraft 3 for online play)
3- Server unavalible (For Example: Disconnected or needs repairs)
4- They aren't original games (for example DNAS for PS2, unables everyone those have backup games to play online or download content)
5- Need an account, Account does not exist.
6- Monthly-Fee games (for example: Final Fantasy Xll), maybe you didn't paid.
7- Shutdown of Electricity on the Servers place.
8- Needs expansion pack (for example: Treasures of Aht Urhgan for Final Fantasy Xll)
9- Company of an online game has closed.
10- Retired MSN Zone Games such as Age of Empires 2.
You can try to get GameSpy, or get a free online game like Bots, which can be downloaded at www.bots.acclaim.com

More than likely your internet connection (dowload speed) is too low. Most internet servers block u if your ping (time to and from u r pc 2 internet server is 2 high). Try broadband...otherwise you're Windows r u r 2nd party anti virus software is blockitransmission.look in settings of both....hope this helps.

First of all you need the right amount of RAM and a graphic card or if you are still running and old operating system on your PC you can't run them. Check you computers specs against the games you want to play.

Hello,
To get Age of Empires III for free you can click here on the link: http://bit.ly/1p0vHSE
With this link you can get the full version completely free.
The game is awesome! The addition to the expansions of this game makes it much improved. The graphics is fixed, even when the cannons shoot, realistic smoke comes out. The game play is very polished. It doesn't use Internet connection to run this game.
Hope it helps.

The problem might be your browser. For a lot of them, unfortunately, you need to use Internet Explorer.
