My husband is a big hockey fan. Here's some of the things I've bought him that he's loved:
-Help them start a hockey card collection: binder, crad sleeves and a couple packages of hockey cards.
-Jersey of favorite team.
-Anything and everything from the AVON catalogue; they have an awesome hockey product collection; everything has the team's emblem.
-tickets to his favorite team's game, and then we stood at the back entrance and got autographs.

Buy a bunch of hockey tape and put it in a box. When I played I never had enough tape always had to steal it from a team mate. Tape makes a great stocking stuffer.

you could get him/her something autographed by a favorite player... there are a lot of places online to find signed items (www.grandstandsports.com, or prosportsmemorabilia.com). Or... check out http://www.gifts.com ... they'll look for gifts based on what the receiver is into, and what they like. its definitely worth checking into. even if you don't want to buy what they offer online, its still a great place to get ideas.

I use to get my brothers hockey sticks and wrap them up and put them under the tree. Of course they always could tell what they were.
