It is neither dumb or easy. Here is why: dumb and easy activities are no fun to watch. A lot of people pay good money to go watch a ballet performance. Easy means anyone can do it. Go ask your neighbor to perform a couple of fouette turns. See is he can do it. And it is certainly not dumb because it takes a lot of mental activity just to get it what your teacher tells you to do. I really don't know how principle dancers can remember the whole 3 hour ballet.

ballet is NOT dumb and most certainly NOT easy!!! ever hear the saying "if ballet were any easier it would be called football"??? well its true ballet is so hard and one of the hardest things baout it is that you have to make it look like its not hard but easy when performing on stage. especially for pointe, some ppl don't even know all of the pain and how HARD it is to not only dance in exteme pain, with some uncomfortable cosutme, under hot lights, in front of tons of ppl and still put a happy smile on yr face and try to make it look easy! ballet is not easy and is NOt at all dumb!

Ballet is NOT easy, maybe the first level in the schools, but when you are in the advanced levels, then it can really take a lot out of you with all the turns, jumps and everything! You literally become superman! anyway its excellent exercise cause all the muscles get toned. I had a 4pack, firm bottom, beautiful calves and arms to die for.

NOPE!!! Some levals may seem easy and dumb but anything on some levels are dumb and easy. Ballet takes concentration, balance, and grace. I do pointe ballet and soccer and i work harder in an hour of pointe then i do in 2 hours of soccer conditioning!

I like it sometimes, but yes it can seem rather dumb at other times. I guess I need to be in the mood for it. I know it is not easy though. I was in it for 13 years and quit when I was introduced to toe shoes. Have you seem the feet of real ballet dancers. Their bruises, callices and blisters prove it is far from easy.

I object. Ballet is hard. It takes years to perfect and a lot of gracefulness. Ballet is an art. I don't care to wander around looking a pictures of paintings. That's art too. So I don't mind if you think its stupid. People enjoy it and if it brings joy that it is in itself good. If you think it's easy- well lets just say I'd like to see you try it! It's simple in theory but much harder in reality.

I don't agree. I am a Ballet dancer and believe me, it is difficult and there's nothing dumb about it. In fact, Ballet dancers are the most flexible and versatile dancers among all. If you have the proper training, you can dance anything else (of course you need the talent too).

i did folk dance for a while, the mexican kind, its considered very macho in mexican culture for guys, ballet on the other hand is not. It looks easy but in my experience it probably harder than it looks. Does look silly to me, but i certainly respect them, the guys, i talk to them back stage and they seem stuck up.
