we'll be in the same place we are now; just slighty to the right.

Dear God, why did we stop educating our young? What is it you mean, "did'nt happen"?
Are you asking what would happen if "We the People" which is the preamble to the Constitution, had not been written?
The Constitution is just a set of laws, the framework for the type of government the new country would have. Without those laws we probably would have a royal family running the country as they do in many other countries, including Great Britain, the country the colonists had just fought a war to be independent of. It took over 10 years to win the war and then write and vote on the laws. At one point some of the leaders tried to crown George Washington king of the new republic. He never fathered any children, so we would not be under the rule of the Washington Royal Family in the year 2006, but someone else might have jumped in to take the crown.
If you are wondering what would happen if the Constitution had not been written, and all the laws spelled out, just think Mid East and all those little bitty countries fighting with each other. And no people's rights. None!
Just be glad it "did happen."

I think that England would have colonies in the 'New World" until the 1920s, Canada and the "USA" would have been one country, Mexico and Russia and France would still own several million sq miles of "American" territory, the Civil War would never have happened, except in Louisiana, b/t the English and French, with the Mexican/Spanish siding with the French. WW1 would have lasted 10 months, WW2 would never have happened, Russia would still be Tzarist and Hitler would have died a retired house painter in 1974, there would be several million Jews living in Europe, Palestine would be a real country and the Middle East would not be about to implode.....
Anything else you'd like to know?

It almost didn't. The Confederation of American States would have remained. It would have been questionable if the US could have withstood the attack of England in 1812. If we had cleared that hurtle, no doubt the constitution would have come into being, but not as written. Would we still have the same freedoms? Possibly. Human nature seldom changes. The major changes would have been in tax structure and levels of authority. I suspect we would have become more of a constitutional monarchy that a federated republic were are today.

Be more specific. You mean the national government, as a whole? Or the principles of Americans. Hm...
"We the People" is a very interesting phrase though. It hasn't always meant the same thing- at least that's what the experts say. When the founding fathers put it into the constitution, it meant the land-owning, tax-paying caucasion. The Framers knew that people weren't yet ready to accept women and people of different skin color as citizens... I guess it hasn't always "happened", if you know what I mean...

I think both world wars would have gone a bit differently. Anyway, for some reason its hard for me to imagine. Almost as though it seems to me one way or another, somewhere in the world the idea of religious and political freedom was destined to emerge. To me the idea of the constitution is something mankind had been evolving toward since the beginning of civilization. Practice of the idea was not in its perfect state then nor is it now.Still yet, if the situation was not "We The People" it would be "we the oppressed".

utilising foul language in public is an offence for which you are going to be arrested. If the newborn replaced into being this type of d**ok as to talk to a Police officer like that then he merits locking up. The Police positioned on a uniform for a reason. they provide a public provider and could be taken care of with the respect they deserve.
