Being abused scars for the rest of the life. Being abused makes you almost painfully sensitivve to other situations where others are being abused. Being abused CAN lead, often through therapy, to a deep appreciation of relationships that are healthy.
Being abused is not the end of the life, but like each of life's events, a starting place from which one can grow.

All you can do is move on and don't let the past haunt you. I was sexually abused when I was 8, and it stays with you forever. Don't let it define who you are or you will end up a total fruitcake. Plus you are allowing the abuser continued control over you. I recommend a good counselor to help you get a good feeling about yourself.

It will affect you the rest of your life. However, the way it affects you is up to you. Most people who suffered abuse grow up with personality disorders such as borderline and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. I was abused until i moved at age 18, and I am just now starting to deal with it. It is definatly hard. You should look into your attitude about yourself and how it affects your life. Good luck

just don't allow what u suffered in your past, to affect your future. what happened to u is not who u are. many of us had bad childhood's. this is now, that was in the past. get in a good group, with other's who have had to deal with the same things in life, help them and as u help them u will be helping yourself. what your parents did to u, was not nice or fair, but sometimes we have to take what life gives us, and move on and do the best we can. what happened back than is not who u are, and has nothing to do with who u will become in life. u can be anyone u want to be, be the best u can be with what u are good at in life. and move forward, never look back. just be thankful for what u do have. don't focus on what is in the past, it is over and not happening anymore.

Geez man...I know what youre feeling and maybe worrying because I have been through early stages of childhood with an abusive Dad..well sense i was born till i was 7 yrs old. And yea..it effects me now. I have trouble trusting people, people in general..I just started to trust the love of my life. I have anger issues, feelings of worthlessness..you name it. Just stay strong...get through life..and know your better than whatever you have been through. Dont worry about the future..change it now..its only going to get harder. Talk to friends family about how you feel...when you feel like dirt..call a girlfriend/ boyfriends whatever your case and let them chear you up. Let them teach you that your better then you think you are.

Children are treated the same way their parents were. I have been abused by others who take kindness for weakness. Jesus finally became my answer to abuse. Jesus loves me, and this life is short; after all is said and done, that is what people agree upon. He helps me by being who he is, loving and caring.
