His hobby is bike riding but he already has everything he needs. He's not into any other sport or music or movies. He loves books, mainly on personal development/self help and money but has them all! Practical or meaningful....I am open to any suggestions...

Does he belong to a fitness club? Sounds like he is healthy and active. A membership would be nice. A second suggestion would be tickets to hear a professional speak on the subjects he likes to read about. There are many self help speakers today. Maybe a day of activities with you doing the things he likes to do would be a great gift for someone who has everything.

Is he single? If so, a week or two of delivered-to-the-door gourmet meals from a place like Mealmakers. Or perhaps a gift of gourmet cooking classes, something you could attend together as an added gift?Maybe a month of maid service? If he is married, a romantic weekend at a B&B, someplace near a fabulous biking trail? As a last resort, a fruit of the month club, especially if he doesn't have a lot of time to shop. Also consider something like a really nice cashmere sweater or scarf....luxury never goes out of style. Another poster wants to give his mom 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets...that is another luxury item people don't often buy themselves.

What about setting up a bike ride for just the two of you someplace that he hasn't gone that isn't too far from where you live? That way you can give him something he likes, but also the two of you, alone, can spend some quality time. Then maybe during the ride, you can stop for something to eat,or even just a snack and then continue the ride, and perhaps go out to dinner afterward to discuss the great time the two of you had.

Does he enjoy beer or wine? If so, a membership in a beer or wine of the month club would be ideal. You can find him some funky beer steins to go with the gift.

Zingerman's (www.zingermans.com) offers cheese, bread, and coffee clubs. Their food is expensive but quite nice.

I recently saw this in Brookstone and thought it was really neat--it's a 5-Day Wireless Weather Forecaster. It connects to a satellite (no subscription required) and shows the time, temperature, and forecast for the next 5 days, complete with highs and lows and sun and cloud graphics, just like on TV. $85. Add a book about weather to complete the gift. http://brookstone.com/store/product.asp?pid=532929&wid=100&cid=61&sid=630&search_type=subcategory&prodtemp=t2

Well, you could just get him a card saying a message and syaing something like "join me for a dad/son or dad/daughter day or dinner on so and so date at so and so time". That way your giving him the gift of your time. Nothing will make a parent happier than spending time with their kid! Happy Holidays, hope I helped.

Cash is King and the best as he can buy what he pleases or spent as he wishes. Alternatively you can take him out for a nice dinner, or a good book. Happy Shopping and Merry Christmas.

It may be rather generic, but you could just get him a gift card from a book store...and perhaps include a fancy bookmark or a book light.
