Iam reffering to womens hormone replacement pills, what are they made of? In my great grandmas time ,they took no pills, they drank teas , warm milk with a bit of rum , took hot or cold baths, walk a lot and did more talking! Third world women do not suffer this malady! The pills are destroying our bodies and putting mucho greens in the lab pockets! I too take teas with a bit of rum! Do lots of walking, talking and sex-ing!

Exactly right!

HRT typically is Premarin. This is made of pregnant mare's urine and synthetic estrogens.
Then they add in Provera to make it PremPro. Provera is a synthetic progesterone. This is the same Provera in Depo-Provera, if that tells you how bad it is for you.

Nasty stuff. It should be outlawed! There is never any reason for women to take this synthetic poison. There are naturals and bioidenticals available that will do a much better job without killing us.

You've got the right idea. Menopause is NOT AN ILLNESS...it is a natural stage of a healthy woman's reproductive life.

Now that HRT has been proven to cause breast cancer, it's important that women take charge of their health and start saying NO to artificial hormones and a "pill for every malady" approach. Leave your bodies alone!

Anyway, here are a couple of links if you'd like to learn more about the big announcement about HRT causing breast cancer. Note that breast cancer rates only started increasing rapidly when birth control pills also began to be widely used. BC pills contain estrogen and progestin, hormones that are the most widely used in HRT.

A + B = C

How many more "news flash: pill causes bad side effects" before we realize that the body does NOT need drugs, except in dire circumstances. Let's leave our bodies alone and live healthy lifestyles, and our bodies will take care of the rest!

God bless.

Oh goodness some people are so controvertial about this. Facts are facts, that HRT does more good then bad. First of all the HRT in these meds are much lower then what is in birth control but we all or most of us take them right? What's the big deal with HRT. Women out there with hot flashes, mood swings, crying spells, vaginal dryness, decreased sex drive, HRT also helps protect women against heart disease and help against osteoporosis
! Heart disease is called the silent killer, the NUMBER ONE KILLER IN WOMEN!!

As to what they are made of. Yes, there are some that are synthetic and natural. Estroven, Wild Yam, Premarin and Progesterone, Prempro is not the only hormone out there! FemHrt.There is also prescription medication made from peanut oil that is natural. There are also bioidentical hormones that are also available and are more natural. Here is some information on this.

Hope this information is helpful and doesn't make HRT so scary. Let's outweigh the positives over the negatives. Lets say birth control, it causes blood clots, it can also cause death, liver damage but it is more commercialized then HRT but no one complains about that. I dont see why HRT is so shunned when it does so much good for women! Of course it should only be prescribed for women who are in menopause and are having symptoms and whose labworks show their hormones are low.

Ok enough, hope this helps!

Hormone pills are either made of natural ingredients or man made ingredients. Being Hispanic the Mexican moms and grandmas did everything with herbs and such. I heard they tasted awful and were always doing weird things to themselves. Thank god for modern medicine man made or natural. Hope this helps lots of luck. Take care friend.
