It is so slow where I live that I've heard of people waiting 7 hours or more. I live in Canada where we have free medical services but the wait can be way too long.

Almost 3 days in Los Angeles at a county hospital when my best friend had to have her cast put on for her broken foot. Im not kidding. With crack heads and bums in there. Disgusting. Theres even a wing of the hospital where its the jail hospital, this is at USC. Oh yeah and it isnt free either. I left and went to work everyday and she had to stay and wait.

6 hours when I took my then 5 year old daughter to the hospital. I was a little angry about that! You are so lucky to have free medical services! I have no insurance at all.

On Thanksgiving Day I waited 12 hours. I spent all my holiday in the Emergency room. I had a 105.4 temp and all they did was give me Ibuprofen and water and tell me they didn't know what was wrong. I was so mad I wasted all that time in there for what I was already doing at home.

i live in Canada also and i had to wait 5 hours when i broke my foot, once 3 hours when i had a pretty bad eye infection. i think the medical system is bad in any country i think.
and when i broke my foot, i had to come back the next day to have my cast put in, because the person had already went home!!!!

I'm in the US, had insurance and waited 3 hours. I had cut my finger on the Xmas turkey, had to have 6 stitches. Too long a wait.

I'm in Canada too. I once waited 6 hours after going to the walk-in-clinic and being sent to emergency. They forgot about me. Thankfully it wasnt anything too serious, but the nurse who called my name apologized over and over
