He believes in diplomacy. Carter actually negotiated a lasting peace between Israel and its worst enemy at the time, Egypt. Egypt had been the main mover behind 4 previous wars against Israel. Don't hear of a problem between these countries now, do you?

How about the SALT II treaty? Getting the Russians to limit their arms was a bad thing? We had plenty of overkill, by the way.

Here is what Carter does that rankles the far right. He's opposed the mixing of evangelical religion and politics, and he's criticising the land grabs and human rights violations of Israel. Why not honestly discuss these issues?

Carter didn't know how to deal with the Islamic firebrands who ousted our boy the Shah, but the idea of an Islamic Republic was a new thing then. Bush of course has learned so well from the history of the past 30 years. He whipped their rears and installed a peaceful, pro US, pro Israel democracy next door in Iraq, right?

Because he's a liberal and liberals do and think the exact opposite of what makes sense to normal people. If you want to understand how a liberal thinks (feels), about anything, just take your view on that subject/issue, flip it 180 degs and voile, you have the liberal point of view.

And, yes, Carter was the worst president and IS the worst ex-president ever.

Radical Islamic Terrorism established a foothold during the Carter Administration during His inaction regarding the Hostages in Iran and the rise of Ayatollah Komeini.
The struggle we find ourselves in at this time was birthed on His watch.
He was a better Peanut Farmer than President.

He showed how "smart" he was during the Iran hostage crisis. They more he did nothing the more embassies were attacked. He showed that we were too strong to be willing to use our strength. He tryed to please everyone & insted pissed everyone off.

Granted the military wasn't to please with my solution, but I still think less people on both sides would have died going hard ball at that time. The U.S.'s greatest weakness is wanting to be liked! When you are a people pleaser your work is never done. More people professed to love U.S.S.R. than the U.S.A. Many in the U.S. feel the U.S. citizen is more generious than most.

He wasn't all that nice. He was ineffective. but he did not attempt to destroy NATO, look for non-existant weapons of mass distruction and blink sadly into cameras when a big storm hit.

one who pacifies somebody, especially by acceding to demands.

What is Jimmy Carter, I mean what is an appeaser?

What's wrong with this man? He's got peanuts for brains.

Because he wanted peace. He didn't go poking around in their business like these last two presidents. If we kept our nose out of other countries we wouldn't have any enemies and the world would be at peace.

He thought "talking" was the fix for everything, in reality he did not have the ability to make real decisions about the military. (except for when he cut funding to the military.) All of his policies were failures.

Like most "sissies" I've ever been around...He'd rather talk than fight...and I guess the fact that some of our young men and women have done multiple tours,in Iraq, while others have yet to participate,it seems there may be more "Carters" than we'd like to admit...

His thing wasn't foreign affairs, which is the most important job of a President.
Carter is a very smart man, but not a good President. He was not just a peanut farmer.
