White elephant is when you trade funny gifts at a party. Maybe I bring a jar of hot sauce, you bring a Whoopee cushion, and someone else brings cheap jewelry. Then everyone draws number to see what order you go in. The person can pick a wrapped present off the table or steal from someone who has already gone. Some people give mean presents, while others just choose random things and yet others bring quite nice things. This makes it even more fun since you don't even know if it will be a good present or not!

we do a white elephant exchange every year in my family, we have a couple of return gifts,
one is an old bowling trophy clock thing, its the ugliest thing ever
the other is a box that has 3 cans of some kind of food without the labels, its so funny.
