The Democrat Party was considered the alternative to the Republican Party which was identified with the "Money Trust". It was the Wilson Administration (Democrat) that gave us the Federal Reserve that was originally sponsored by Senator Nelson Aldrich (Nelson Rockefeller's grandfather) from Rhode Island. Aldrich was identified with the "Money Trust" so the Democrats had to carry the ball.
After the Stock Market Crash and the Great Depression, the Democrat Party under FDR started courting radicals. When the FBI pointed out to Roosevelt that some of the people he was appointing were Communists, he gave his famous quote about some of his best friends being Communists.
After FDR passed on to his eternal reward, Truman managed not to win the Korean War by firing MacCarthur, who wasn't playing by UN )Communist) rules. Eventually, the American people were getting sick of the obvious subversion in Washington. Robert Taft would have cleaned house. But it was not to be.
The Insiders got Eisenhower to run as a Republican, even though he was a life-long Democrat. When Senator Joe McCarthy tried to find out why people in Washington were promoting Communist Party members as officers in the US military, Eisenhower told his people not to co-operate with McCarthy.
After Ike came Kennedy, who was perceived as an anti-Communist because of his public stance against Cuba. After Kennedy's assasination, LBJ cranked up the Viet Nam fiasco. As American disenchantment with his conduct of the conflict grew, mainstream media was successful in transferring this frustration towards the military, rather than where it should have been directed, the politicians. It was during this time that the counter-culture took over the Democrat Party. It began with the anti-war hippies. Then came the druggies, the black agitators, the aborters, the homosexuals, the feminazis, the tree huggers, the civilian disarmament crowd. And there you have it.

Mr. Bush Barrack Obama or what ever your name is. It started with Carter the Peanut pusher. Cars were lined up 5 blocks trying to get gas. Arabs kidnapped Americans and we not returned until Reagan's 1st day in office. Plus Carter Gave the Panama Canal back to Panama. You know how much money we made off of that. And now the freaking Chinese bought and control everything around the canal. No Crapholela. That's a great Military strategy Mr. Carter. What a Monkey's ***. Anyway that's when it started in my opinion.

They never have, It's just typical Republican BS.
There isn't a single Democrat that doesn't support capitalism, and doesn't support national security with a strong military. All thos shiny weapons Reagen purchased to win the cold war were paid for by budgets passed by Democratic congresses.
