I have had a problem ever since i got to college. i am too shy to talk to girls or whatever, so i decide to instant message them on Instant Messanger. After a while they start calling me a stalker. I really want to stop. It is really discomforting. Can ANYONE give me any advice whatsoever to help me stop. i just dont know how and I wish i could. i really need to stop, people that i know close are starting not to talk to me, i really need to change...

Just don't do it.
Get rid of the IM features on your phone. All you're doing is setting yourself up for an even greater fall.
As you are obviously not going to have friends or a date soon, you have to decide if hat is what you want. Next time you decide to IM someone, just think of everyone shunning you.

It depends on what you do. If they think you're a stalker because you IM them and they don't want to talk to you, that is ridiculous...you are not a stalker and they're just trying to hurt your feelings. But if you keep bothering them after they've already made it clear to them that they want nothing to do with them, that IS being a stalker. So STOP. Every time you feel the urge to contact them, go to Yahoo Answers or find something else to do! Or meet some people in a chat room that do want to chat with you. Don't talk to people who don't want to talk to you!

A stalker doesn't instant message people; a stalker follows someone secretly and watches their routines. Some stalkers do harm and some just watch. If you are called a stalker for sending instant messages, tyou are being accused of something you are not doing..

Well, sir, the best advice I have for you is to get to know these girls before you just suddenly start instant messaging them. I sincerely believe that you have all pure intentions at heart, but you're just not going about meeting others in the way which is comfortable for others. Unfortunately, meeting people through the internet has this negative "stalkerish" stigma attached to it. You should just take your time and meet people in person. That way, it won't scare the women and you won't become frustrated with your being given the title of "stalker." Best of luck!

i think you need to conform instead of trying to change. if everyone calls you a stalker, you must be a stalker. if you already are a stalker, just get better at it, so you can see all sorts of things that non-stalkers can't see.

well, go up to them & tell them in front of everyone that, "I'm not a stalker so stop calling me a stalker!!!".. I'm shy too, but once you have nothing to do you bcome crazy & everything....so, stop being shy okay?

I know how you feel. I have the worse social anxiety ever.Anyway, tell a close friend either male or female who you would like to talk to but youre too shy to talk to them, and ask if they would go talk to them for you. Ive had many guys do this to me.Many of them had their friend (one a girl, one a guy) come tell me that their friend thinks Im hot and would like to get to know me better, and then they point to him,(most of the time theyre too afraid to look at me during this whole contact) and ifd he's cute, i accept, and many times a girl will.

delete AIM, get a hobby and concentrate more on your work. If you really like a girl try becoming her friend at first, i know its hard, and with thime you can become more. Maybe write her a note and give it to her friend or send it to her, making it more personal and makes you seem ALOT less like an online stalker.

well, that's different kind of stalking. i don't stalk the guy i like but i do try to see where his classes are and i try to walk by him or bump into him. my suggestion is to not use the computer, maybe that will help. but everyone needs the computer for schoolwork so just don't use im

well, keep up the good work and eventually someone will take it to the police and then you can figure out how to stop while you are in jail.
