If you ask someones OPINION you should not argue about it- if you are in a close relationship-friends-lovers-spouses etc an opinion is just that...an opinion. You should be prepared to hear what the other person has to say-you will find out a lot by LISTENING- and please...Relinquish the need to DEFEND and explain Your point of view or convictions.
Everyone is intitled to their own SEPERATE opinion- just because theirs is different than yours doesn't require an arguement.
Always start by stating "If you don't want to hear the truth even if it hurts you or may offend you, let's not even start this conversation"--thats what I always do....
When you ask for an opinion, that doesn't mean "tell me what I want to hear"--
For example..Question: "Baby, do these jeans make my @ss
Look big?"
For Example YOUR answer: "If you are prepared to hear my sincere opinion, even if it is hurtful or truthful we can continue-if you are going to be hurt-we don't need to go any further with this"
OR Your answer: "BABY your @ss is slammmmin!!!"

well, i don't think when you ask someone for opinion is not the way to start an argument

Yes because people are so diverse nowadays, everyone has a different opinion. Therefore asking for someone elses is more likely to cause a disagreement which could lead to a debate and then to conflict!

if u just take there opinon and go on keep your thoughts silent no argument can start but if you get into a debate over a subject tha was just opinon to start with there can be no winner as there are no facts its just my opinon..now on the other side some folks will argue just to argue so sure it can

most of times doesn't work. Try complaining about something silly like why is this thing still on table, I should throw it in garbage or why did u buy me 3 lbs. of tomatoes, I asked for TWO

Yeah pretty much!!
if you ask someone for their opionion, and disagree with their opinion, if they're passionate enough about it... they'll get pretty angry!!
i was really bad at doing that, getting worked up because people didn't agree with me, but now i realise... who cares, its not like i can change their opinion... its my opinion and i believe it who cares about them!
