Your public IP address that you get from your ISP will always be public. If you have a router, that will be the address on the router that the internet can see. Your PC's will then get different IP's from the router that others can not see to help protect your computers from hackers.

Yes and no. When you're using a NAT router (virtually all the cheap SOHO routers are NAT routers) your computer will get a private IP address from the router. That IP address will be hidden from the outside world. That really doesn't matter though, as private IP addresses cannot be used on the Internet.
The router WILL have a public IP address and all machines connected to the network behind the router will be seen as using that IP address. There's no way to hide your public IP address. Any machine or site that you connect to needs to know your public IP address so it can send the requested data (web page, e-mail, etc.) back to you.
You can hide your public IP address -- sort of anyway -- by using a proxy to surf the net. The proxy hides your true IP address from the site you're accessing, BUT the proxy knows what your IP address is.
If you're doing something illegal, the proxy's owner can be compelled to turn over the logs that will show your IP address as well as every connection that you made through the proxy.

You can't hide your IP address. It's assigned by your ISP so you have no direct control over it and it's outside the scope of your router. Invisible browser just keeps your browser from openly transmitting your IP address to websites, but you can still be traced.

Kind of. Depending on how you setup your router your IP address can still be visible but not accessible from the outside. The only good way of hiding your IP address is by using an "onion network" application like Tor.

If you are getting a dynamic IP address from your ISP don't even worry about it. Only a security problem with a static IP addressing...

if you are running NAT on your router all private IP's are converted to you IP provided by your ISP. your computers address is hidden from the public - but not your public address
it makes a nice hardware firewall to protect you from random internet attacks but not from virus' and trojan's you invite in...
if you are trying to 'hide', good luck and learn about proxies.

Generally the machines connected to a router all show the IP of the router.
But it is still traceable.

Yes, this is how it works. You have to go to "http://whatismyip.org/" to find out what your external ip address is.
