Yes the latter was said somewhat as a joke, I was trying to use it to illustrate what is and is not allowed.
Unfortunately stoning is still commonplace for lots of crimes.
Recently just before a man was executed, as his last request he was allowed to play a flute, after which the family who'd asked for the death penalty freed the man.
This is a culture I'm trying to understand, if we don't make the effort its gonna be a lot harder to in the future.
