I am just thinking about getting a PSP for Christmas.

It plays portable games, and little dvd movies that you have to buy seperately from the regular dvd. You can also listen to music and view pictures on it (a lot easier with an expansion card) plus you can play games wirelessly with other psp owners (you have to be pretty close to them to do that, plus most games require each of you to have the game).

It has Wi-Fi, can surf the web, so it has online gaming, plus you can watch movies, view pictures, and listen to music. Its an awesome player but all of the media comes on UMDs, these little discs that are imcompatible with everything except the PSP.

Man it totally rules. I played 10 hours straight on the flight back from China to San Francisco. Syphon Filter is so awesome, and So com 2 multiplayer is all time with mic support so you can talk to your team mates or just talk trash to the other team. I highly recommend it. It will also work well with the PS3 for unlocking games and getting new content.

you can put music on it, watch you own clips that you can put on it, put files on it, search the internet, play games, and watch a movie from sonys umd's that they sell.
