I'd like to surprise him but I'm so excited and don't know if I can hold it in!

What I mean is that I'd like to wrap up something for a baby and give it to him as a Christmas present next week before we go home to our families.

Okay here is my idea :) wrap up something a piece of paper with a rock or something in it that says "I'm pregnant" and let him open it EARLY, be like I just couldnt wait to give this to you :) OR wrap up the pregnancy test itself :D

I don't know that I could have waited that long... I told him immediately. It might be nice if you could tell him when it was just the two of you instead of in front of your family.
I think I saw this on TV once, but I thought it was a cute idea. Fix a dinner for him w/ the baby theme. Everything in miniature size, like the little roasting hens & baby carrots or something.
OR you could find a mug that says #1 dad or something, wrap it up & give it to him right before you go into be your family.
Either way, he'll be excited! Congratulations and good luck!

I know it's really hard. I just kept emailing my friends with a corny we're pregnant message. I got to tell, but I kept it from my family...until thanksgiving. I had my son wear a tshirt that said "I'm going to be a big brother" :))) It was a hit!
I don't think I could keep it from hubby that long though. Although you don't have to wait long until Christmas. I'd say wrap a positive HPT in a little box. You can even have a few baby gifts...
Or, just tell him - it's an awfully big secret to keep from him!!

hey my roommate did something like this to her husband but not for christmas and it was in a different way she went out and bought a pregnancy test and took it for a joke she did not even know she was prego but she was going to take it and show it to him but not the results to make him think she was prego well she ended up showing him the results because they were prego and she give him a healthy little girl 2 days ago but u could wrap the pregnancy test up and give that to him on christmas or before tell him that it is something for his eyes only so that is why he has to open it early or u could go out and by a picture frame and put a picture of ur belly in it and say something like ur number 1 dad or merry christmas dad or babies first christmas even though the baby is not here yet or u could buy a christmas card that would be from your son or daughter and give it to dad and say something like merry christmas dad i love u dad can not wait to meet u for the first time dad or something like that good luck and congrats

- Avoid talking to him as much as possible...stay busy, or...your pregnant, so sleep a lot!
- You can give him an early christmas gift...if you really can't wait.
- You can tell someone else and see if that helps.
- You can surprise him now by adding baby to a list of people who he needs to by gifts for and see how long it takes for him to catch on...that might be funny enough to keep you going.
I still like your idea the best though...so try to hold out as long as you can...Christmas is so close.

Lots of people wrap sonogram photos.
Personally, I would get a stocking that says "Baby's First Christmas" or "Future Family Member" ... something like that (I would say ornament, but men don't notice things like that). Ask if he likes the new decorations. He'll look around and then notice it. Very nice.

Just remember your surprise. That's a great way to tell him. Just in case you can't hold it in. Go ahead and get the baby, wrap it, and put it under the tree. That way if you really, really can't hold it, you can tell him you want him to open a gift early.

I think that I good idea would be to give him a "christmas card"; however that card turn out to be a " happy father day card"; Get it??? I think that this idea would be really cute. Or get him somethin like a baby pair of shoes....? Its up to use you imagination, but don't wait too long!

Whew, the additional information tends to change the situation completely!
Here's an idea...get a baby ornament you can personalize (in a gender-neutral color) and have it engraved "Daddy's First Christmas" and when he unwraps it and goes "wtf?" tell him you can put it on the tree next year :)
I did this for my dad (they said "Pop-Pop's First Christmas), one in blue and one in pink to let my parents know what I was having :) They loved it!
