Yes, if you have implants you should have screening mammograms just like any other woman. Your baseline should be at age 35-40 and then a yearly (or every other year) mammo from the age of 40 on. A mammogram on a woman without implants consists of four different images. A mammo on a woman with implants consists of 8 images. We do the regular four views, plus four more views where we "push" the implant back and just image all of the breast tissue we can. Implants will hide much of the breast tissue, therefore, it is harder to find an early breast cancer, but it is the best (and most cost effective) thing we have technology wise right now for a woman who has no symptoms. Here is some info I found:
"women with breast implants can still have mammograms. However, breast implants may decrease the ability of mammograms to detect breast cancer, because implants can obscure the image of a tumor.
If you have breast implants, you may want to consider getting mammograms at a facility that does a large number of these examinations annually. The mammogram procedure may be slightly different and the images more difficult to interpret in women with breast implants. For these reasons, you may benefit from a radiologist experienced in such examinations.
There's a very slight risk that breast implants may rupture during a mammogram. But the benefits of mammography in the early detection of breast cancer outweigh this risk.
Breast cancer screening guidelines are the same for women with breast implants as for all women. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends a screening mammogram every one to two years after age 40, depending on your risk."

"Screening mammograms are still suitable for most women with breast implants. The implant affects how much breast tissue can be seen on the mammogram so breast x-rays may be less effective for women with implants. Slightly different x-ray techniques may be used. It is highly unlikely that a breast x-ray will damage your implant, however, it is possible."

I think the question is if it is possible to have mammograms with breast implants? yes you can, it is recomended to have breast implants under the muscle so when mammograms are done the tissue is easier to see and they don't have to squish the breast tissue as hard. Yes you will still need to have mammograms after breast implants, especially if breast cancer runs in your family.
Mammograms see different things then ultrasounds, mammograms see more solid things, ultrasounds see more soft tissue.
Hope this helps.

I would say NO...
I'm a natural D cup with no children so I'm still firm but I do suffer from cysts, the last 3 Dr's have sent me in for ultra sounds stating that they prefer this method for women who are larger and or still "firm" as mammograms squish the breast too much and can be more dangerous in the long run.

women nevertheless get mammograms with implants, and the probabilities of rupture are small. The mamm tech tries to push the implants out of a thanks to get as a lot tissue on the movie as achievable. yet, implants do make it harder to locate complications.
