some people do better by remembering where things are.

If you don't like to memorize lists of words, try memorizing by looking at a map with all the capitals. divide the country up into regions. for example, try memorizing all the states & capitals in New England . Once you have them down, move to a new area and start learning those.

After awhile you'll have a map of the US in your head!

The very best way to remember anything is to write it out over and over. Saying it or trying to remember it off the top of your head wont work unless you have a photographic memory so you will have to do the work. Write out each state and the capital of each and do them 100 times each.
