My twin and I were adopted by the most loving parents in the world when we were 2.....we are now 47. My best Christmas present I ever recieved was every single minute with all of us together in our little brick house in upstate NY with the Christmas tree glowing and my fathers Christmas music playing and my mom making her Christmas cookies in the kitchen as a lake Erie blizzard stormed outside. They were near fifty when they adopted us and yet still had the energy to give us the best life they could possibly afford as she worked as a store clerk and him a janitor. They were the kind of people (married sixty years when they both died six months of eachother five years ago) that this world should be made of. That was my best Christmas present and one that I can never compare to any part of my even now very happy life. But I guess it would not be this happy if it were not for all they taught me. Merry Christmas to you. I hope THIS ONE is your best.

my sister donated to heifer in my honor- it is a wonderful organization- check it out!

Heifer's Mission to End Hunger
Heifer envisions…
A world of communities living together in peace and equitably sharing the resources of a healthy planet.

Heifer’s mission is…
To work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.

Heifer's strategy is…
To “pass on the gift.” As people share their animals’ offspring with others – along with their knowledge, resources, and skills – an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance is created that reaches around the globe.

Heifer’s History
This simple idea of giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief caught on and has continued for over 60 years. Today, millions of families in 128 countries have been given the gifts of self-reliance and hope.

When I was 10, I was living with two older sisters, one being my guardian (our mother and father had passed away). I was told there wasn't enough money for gifts, so they took me to some store similar to family dollar, and I got to choose a couple toys for me, plus they asked what I would choose for a few other kids they were giving gifts to. Turns out it was all for me.

Best Christmas gift: a telescope (I got it when I was in the seventh grade)

Best gift of all: the gift of eternal life when God saved me when I was 24.
