It's amazing when you do find them. They're winners. I'm definitely going to go see "The Pursuit of Happyness". He was on Oprah today as a matter of fact. You wouldn't believe what he went through. He would constantly be put out of his house at gunpoint by his father. And don't even mention when he had holiday get togethers, everyone would get drunk and act Irate. He lived in upper Milwalkee, Wisconsin which is apparently some kind of terrible hood it seems. He's seen the inside of his mothers skull before, but his mother always had dreams and taught him to dream he said. Two stories come to mind that he said. One was how he was watching something in basketball on television and he said aloud, to no one in particular, "Wow, one day that guy is going to have a million dollars" and his mother heard him and said, you know something Chris, one day you can have a million dollars too. And he said from that point on it wasn't a matter of will or won't, it was simply finding the right venue. And as for the other story about his family, he said that one christmas, since he had the type of family that would get drunk and irate, he decided to go to the movies with his girlfriend instead of over his families house. And he went to take a bath, to prepare. In the middle of his bath, his grandfather burst in, drunk, and put him at gunpoint and removed him from the house, bum-naked and dripping wet. He said he's had a hard time with Christmas' ever since that day. His son barely remembers but he does remember always having to be on the move. They used to sleep in bathrooms and such. It's inspiration. He's a multi-millionaire now, although he didn't say which industry he was in (in the movie he went into stocks) he said he was particularly passionate about it. He said that his standards had him knowing two things; 1) he knew he was going to be world class at something, he just didn't know what it was and 2) since his father was particularly nasty to him and his mother, he was going to break the cycle fo fathers that weren't there for their children in his family. I think it's absolutely incredible because he's that nice type of person that has a very in depth spiritual side, he's a real person who is genuine but also he's not the type of person who can't cry if something particularly touches him. It's those type of people who are the best. Real people. One could only pray that we'd have half of the ability that he had. Although I believe that full potential is in us all.
