I'm completely hopeless at throwing and catching. My mom wants me to take up a sport. I'm already learning artistic gymnastics(level 3) and I don't want swimming. My mom won't let me do ballet cos she says it's too close to gymnastics(just a little bit, in my opinion). So HELP!

hello,

I guess, you should play games you are not generally good at doing like throwing and catching :)

Tennis could be one of them. In principle it is a catching game. I love tennis because not ony does it make my reflexes and flexibility better but it allows me to invent shots beyond the textbook. When I hit the ball, there is this awesome feeling that at that moment, at the very impact, it all about me, the racquet and the ball.

Racquet sports also give you an additional bonus. You will learn how to control and handle an element outside of your body. Unlike basketball where you just have to dribble and shoot the ball, tennis has an intermediary tool which is the racquet. It also is a team sport when you play doubles.

Whatever you chose, you wont like any sport at the first few times you play it. Be patient. Because as you gradually develop skill, it will become more enjoyable.

I hope I make sense, and good luck to you and your new sport.

PS : Who said you only study one? go ahead and try them all out. :)

Gymnastics is a great sport, so keep on doing that. It tones and builds muscle like crazy! Gymnastics is a building block that will help you with every sport.
I first suggest volleyball. I say this because it will help your arm strength so you can throw and catch well. It is also fun, and a team sport. After this, I suggest track and field, or soccer. They both require lots of running (which is great for you and you don't run in gymnastics). They also will help you with your throwing (soccer- throw ins, track and field- shotput and discus).
Hope this helps!

How about martial arts?
Tap dancing?
Fencing?
Volleyball
Skating
Diving would be awesome with gymnastics bc of the flips and stuff!

But if you want to do ballet, it's a great idea and it would compliment your gymnastics. Nearly all the professional gymnasts (and ice skaters too) take ballet lessons so they can be more graceful and do dance moves more nicely.

Hockey to play. I play quite regularly. Hockey to watch. The only other sport I watch is baseball during the World Series.

Soccer is cool. There is no catching unless you are the goalie and there is almost no throwing. The goalie does most of the throwing.
