Climate models are constantly being refined as new data is feed into them. The Great Debate on global Warming is becoming more about pop science than real science. When politicians say that the debate is over Mankind is responsible for todays climatic change. Such statements are more about stifling debate and research. In our hubris we carelessly make statements forgeting that in the past there was a consensus that the earth was flat and that the sun went around the earth. Scores of scientific papers show that the medieval warm period was real, global and up to 3C warmer than now. Then, there were no glaciers in the tropical Andes: today they're there. There were Viking farms in Greenland: now they're under permafrost. There was little ice at the North Pole: a Chinese naval squadron sailed right round the Arctic in 1421 and found none.

The last ice age ended about 15,000 years ago and scientists can't explain why or why it started. There is also physical evidence that at one time, Alaska was a tropical region. At another period, the great Inland Sea covered most of what is now the central USA.
The people that keep yelling global warming never attempt to explain these naturally occurring earth cycles.
Also realize that some 'greenies' want to limit the use of fuels to inhibit 'green house gases' - this means that coal and petroleum will not be allowed. Yet they don't propose any alternatives. Nearly all the electrical energy produced in this country is generated by coal and fossil fuels. Heaven help you if you suggest building a new hydro-electric plant.
The current plans of the extreme environmentalist will destroy the economy and liveable conditions in this country. Yet, there is no attempt to make China and India reduce carbon emissions, just the current industrialized nations, especially the USA. China and India are two of the greatest polluters.
Is the climate changing, yes, do we know why? Probably not, because ever time a true scientist presents research that the greenies disagree with or it doesn't fit their agenda, attempts are made to discredit the scientist and his research.
Al Gore claims to be an expert but never presents factual scientific evidence to support his claims. This is why politics must be removed from the discussion of climate change.

Global warming is in vogue these days. Back in the 70's there were articles in Time and Newsweek about the coming global cooling. There was fear of an iceage. Seems we don't see the overall cycles that nature has. We should not go out of our way to pollute ( like China and India are doing right now ), but keep running the cars and do nothing.

If you've seen the movie "An Inconvenient Truth", then you know that it brings lots of attention to the issue. If you haven't seen it yet, then what are you waiting for?
^-^ In all seriousness, it was a great movie, and seeing as how you appear to be very concerned about the issue, you should set some time aside to watch it.
Did you know that if the sea level rises just 20 feet (due to the melting of ice caps), the majority of lower Manhattan will be submerged underwater.... Not to mention millions of people will be displaced in India and other countries that ususually are not high above sea level.
Ooo, I'm getting fired up again!

I think it is an unproven theory that people are panicing over. We need to spend some time doing the basic work towards determining what is really happening. Only then can we determine if we should take any action. Stop letting politicians and loony toons buffalo you into action based on unsupported and misrepresented pop science.

Nothing...it's amyth conspired by scientists that have nothing to do and needed some type of funding..it's also a way for unpopular politicians to have a platform.
It's all theory...there is no actual proof. The little proof that is available points to normal climatic change that has occured for millions of years.

Ask "mother nature" who is the "god of the earth" and if there is calm then we haven't contributed but if a bad storm blows through that means she's mad as hell and we should go ahead and salvage our vehicles for scrap metal and plastic and stop using heating and ac and convert our houses to greenhouses. Isn't this the way mythical cultures got answers, by asking the gods?

Stop polluting! Stop making cars and cigarettes and alcohol and everything else that requires loads of energy. For Heaven's sake! I live in a part of Canada where we have snow by mid-November and lots of it.... Here we are December 14th and no snow! Not only lonely flake of it!
So, thanks to all those companies out there, wasting electricity and polluting the air, water and whatever else... Thanks to you, I may not have a white Christmas!?! Poo-poo!

first of all you have to accept that it is true. you have to know that those that preach it, have an agenda. its called goverment grants. the more hype the more money spent on research. what you can do is is ask questions, and uncover the truth.
