ou have asked a very big question in 6 words. u must atleast mention where you are located. the area you have.I am from india & close to Mumbai and the here the climate differs every 100km. I am a nurseryman and deal ofcourse in tropical plants. Iam a wholesaler and propagate plants & plants of all sizes. See if you are from a cold country where the temperature in winter below 10 C then you need a green house. let me imagine myself in your place. you are in a place where u have to do all your work & labour is costly. I would have gone for indoor plants in pots. there must be large nurseries in your place where you can purchase small plants in net pots and transplant it in larger pots and wait for sometime as they grow bigger u can sell them. there is lot to be told but this is a out line if you want email me at shrirammullick@yahoo.co.in

An awful lot of variables...apples, pears, some peaches do best in the North...certain peaches, plums, apricots better in the middle of the country...citrus only South ( I think) Most nurseries have mail-order catalogs which describe their trees.....I had great luck with Miller Bros. w/apples.
One thing I learned...unless you're looking forward to a lot of work, get dwarf trees....I only have four "semi-dwarf" apples and it's a lot of work climbing ladders, etc when it's time to prune or pick! Either that or don't get old!!
Don't get me wrong, it is a great experience...and if you get at least one " Golden Delicious" you will never regret it!
The nursery catalogues may have info about spacing, spraying, fertilizing, etc.

Are you selling plants?Because if you are you have to get a special permit
to operate one in a residential neighborhood.

Also, if you have no idea of what type of plants you will like to grow, then pick up a book with the same name ""How to start a back yard nursery?" from
a book store.
