This is part of the physiological change in the early part of pregnancy; You will soon grow out of it.

Avoid early morning fluids/eats

Take solids, like biscuits and so on, usually a while later in the day.

Folic acid is recommended, but not mandatory at this point of time; but you need to start that soon.

Usually you are relieved of most symptoms by 12 weeks.

Here are some helpful Do's and Don'ts:

Do:

1. Eat small meals often
2. Drink fluids 1/2 hour before or after a meal, but not with meals
3. Drink small amounts of fluids during the day to avoid dehydration
4. Eat soda crackers 15 minutes before getting up in the morning
5. Eat whatever you feel like eating, whenever you feel you can
6. Ask someone else to cook for you and open the windows or turn on fans if the odor bothers you
7. Get plenty of rest and nap during the day
8. Avoid warm places (feeling hot adds to nausea)
9. Sniff lemons or ginger, drink lemonade, or eat watermelon to relieve nausea
10. Eat salty potato chips (they have been found to settle stomachs enough to eat a meal)
11. Exercise

Don'ts:

1. Do not lie down after eating
2. Do not skip meals
3. Do not cook or eat spicy food

Hope you find these helpful.

I wouldn't take anything without first checking with your doctor. Feeling sick is normal... and not just in the morning. I was sick all the time, too!

The good news is, it usually just lasts through your 12th week. Check with your doctor for advice on what you might be able to do to a) keep your nutritional intake where it needs to be, and b) feel less nauseous.

Oh, and it's not something in your stomach that's making you sick, it's the hormones in your system.. so it doesn't seem to me that something like Alka Seltzer would help much. sorry!

For the nausea my DR told me I could take Emetrol and that was it... I had morning sickness like you are explaining from 6 weeks to 13 weeks... I always felt nauseated and lost 8 pounds in that time... but the appetite came back and the baby has been measuring great! Good luck and congrats!!!

I was the same way....fortunately it goes away at about 13 weeks for most women. I was able to stomach a smoothie in the morning, fruit as a snack, and well...I can't think of anything that didn't make me puke for dinner! :) I wore these stupid looking bracelets that are supposed to calm your stomach through pressure points. I don't know if they actually did any good...but I was desperate and at least it made me think I was doing something! They are called sea bands and you can get them at any drug store. Good luck! And just remember it will pass!

Ugh...me too. I'm four weeks and tired of it. Tums is good, but you have to be really careful. I can't drink water right now, it definitely makes me sick, but sips of warm ginger tea helps, esp with a saltine cracker.

Chewing gum helps too, as long as it's not a strong flavor, and sucking on a butterscotch candy. Licorice seemed to help in my last pregnancy, but not now. Dried sweet oranges from the Chinese mart helped too, but I can't find it now.

Sorry, I know it sucks. Good news is that most women are over it by 12 weeks (yay...I know)

Keeping your stomach full or with atleast some food in it should prevent that feeling of nausea I learned that during my second pregnancy. Don't let your stomach get empty.

You have the same problem as my mom. What she does is she eats really light foods and maybe some sprite.

Also if you have good insurance there are some expensive pills that make you feel better but if your insurance is good you can get them real cheap.

Morning sickness. Chances are it will go away soon, but, not to scare you, alot of women have it the entire pregnancy. Just make sure you get all the nutirents you and your baby need.
