I wear AE and Aero too, mainly b/c it's cheaper but I like em too. Tell them to get over it, if they have such a problem with the way you dress just be like "Well you buy me all the rich clothes" :P
Joke about it though so it's in their mind but still kinda light.

First of all hollister and abercrombie are about the same price as ae (but not as aero) and i know abercrombie always has sales. Try buying some of your clothes in the off season. Like buy a lot of summer clothes in the fall and a lot of winter clothes in the summer. Believe me, with stores like hollister and abercrombie, your clothes won't go out of style by the time you get to wear them. Also if you're going to spend all that money on abercrombie try shopping at other more individual stores like 579 and express. Create your own style and be truly unique.

Oh boy, I can totally relate. I attended public school, but most kids came from families that had a great deal of money. I worked hard to develop my own style so it would look like I DIDN'T want to fit in, but I really did. Look, I read all of the answers below and they all offer great advice. But I also know that until you get a little older and get some perspective, you are still going to worry about this. All I can add is that if you look, and I mean REALLY look at what folks with real money are wearing, you'll realize that you can't tell that they have money. People who have true class never flaunt their money. It's considered poor taste. And finally, give your folks a hug and thank them. You may be under some serious stress that they may not understand, but if your family really does not have disposable cash for clothes, they are likely putting everything they have into your education, i.e., your future. They must think you're a pretty neat kid.

The first part of avoiding people mocking you is letting it roll off of your back. Just forget those people who make fun of you for not wearing a certain brand...if they're really hurting you here are some tactics that might make them not mess with you:
-Be proud of who you are; you don't spend too much money on clothes and that's nothing to be ashamed of.

-remember that people who use clothing as a basis for discrimination/teasing are not (emotionally) intellegent.
It's clothing. yes it's cute and makes you look good, but buying at A&F and hollister is too expensive unless you're super rich.

-people bother you no matter what. If you did save your money in order to purchase expensive clothes, would it really be worth it? people will always find some reason to pick on you. all you can do is just learn how to face it.

Aero and AE are awesome clothes. They should get over it and get to knkow you for you and not you clothes and tell thoses preps that they should get a grip on reality. P.S.- If you really want the Abercrombie&Hollister clothes, go to the stores , but shop for the bargins.

Hollister and AE are pretty much the same thing made by the same people and the same prices it's just a slightly different "look" If you like your clothes then tell them to stuff it!

I think that is pathetic. Kids are terrible. Don't let them get you down!

Maybe you can avoid the whole brand thing altogether and get some classy fashions from the Gap.

BTW, in a few years it will not matter, once they hit 22 or 23 they are going to look ridiculous in their teeny-bopper clothes.

Just remember, mommy and daddy bought it for them anyways!

first of all, if you can afford AE, you can also affod GUESS and french connection (sales) and buffalo. except maybe not the pants. also, if you can buy AE, you can DEFINATELY get some zara. zara has great selection and is totally fashionable.
