It is possible to get food poisoning from plain cheese pizza, no toppings? I thought that it was more likely from meat or fish. Please advise.

Food poisoning can come from any food that is left to spoil and develop bacteria. Everything from lettuce to candy can have food poisoning.

You can get food poisoning from any type of food, if it came into contact with contaminated food. Plus there are lots of meats that go onto pizza, so there is lots of possibility for that to happen.

There is a bacteria called listeria,that can cause an infection of the blood (from milk and cheese) and can take up to 3 weeks to cause symptoms. You can feel flu-like, with nausea, throwing-up,diarrea, and body aches and pains along with fever. Can be very severe and needs to be treated by a doctor.

Was the pizza frozen first? if it was then you can get food poisoning from under-cooked food

Yes it is possible if the pizza has not been prepared properly and hygienically. You could easily get sick from it.
