I believe that there will come a day when we'll see movies like Saw on TV with very little editting. Today there are things shown on television that would be completely and totally shocking to anyone that was around 30-40 years ago. The language and semi-nudity that they're now showing on TV is much, much different than the TV and movies from a couple decades ago. Although they've tightened up the rules since the Superbowl halftime show a few years ago, I would be shocked if this type of horror movies aren't on tv.

By the time movies like Saw are on tv, I'm sure there will be movies that are even more violent and gory and we'll have to wonder if those will make it on tv.

They do play the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre on tv. It is all edited, but I have seen it on regular tv. Movies like Saw would entirely SUCK on cable tv because of all the editing they would have to do.

I have NEVER seen a horror movie uncut on cable tv, but we can see uncut comedies (Clerks) and major films with cursing and nudity (Schindler's List). They are beginning to only show certain horror movie trailers between certain hours to protect children from the scenes.
