He wants to end his career in somewhere he has pitched before. He is either going back to the Astos, which is not likely to happen, coming back to the Yankees, or coming back to the Red Sox. The most real thought is coming back to the Yankees. He was the best of his career when he was on the Yankees. He was always pitching well and won a couple of rings. I think his main focus is coming back to NYY and ending his career here so he can go into the Hall of Fame wearing the old pinstripes.

I don't think Clemens will walk away while still at his peak. With that said, he will probably only want to pitch half a season or so like he did this year. He will go to either the Red Sox, Yankees, or Astros. The Yankees are the current favorites because Andy Pettite and Clemens are very close, and also they have the most money to spend. I don't think he will go to Boston because there is no place for him in the rotation with 1.Matsuzaka 2.Schilling 3.Beckett 4.Papelbon 5.Wakefield/Lester. Houston is a distinct possibility, but they wouldn't pay Pettite more than 12 million. Pettite wanted 14 milion from Houston and got 16 million from New York. But, if Houston matches the Yankees he will most likely stay in his hometown.

Roger Clemens will probably pitch in the nursing home with David Wells. Just kidding. He will sign with the Yankees, because the Red Sox already have too much money tied up with their Japanese sensation Daisuke Matsuzaka, and the Astros have no money after spending it on Carlos Lee and Woody Williams.

He's retired before. Remember he said he'd retire after the 2003 season? He said he won't pitch again. I saw him say that during the World Series. Of course he didn't retire. I'm an Astros fan. I'm not sad Pettitte went back to the Yanks. He was too inconsistent. Clemons, however, pitched very well in Houston. He did say he wanted to be close to home to spend more time with his family in Katy, just west of Houston. If he does leave Houston, he'll just be another greedy liar. Sports is filled with them.

I'm sure he will take into consideration as to which team will first pay him what he wants and second which team affords him the greatest opportunity to win another championship. All fingers point to the Yankees. One last harrah with his buddy Andy Pettite.

Hopefully anywhere other than New York. He will probably have a repeat of last year. Pop in at the middle of the season, do great, and teeter on playing and retirement.

I think he will get one more season, and it will be with the Yanks. Why? Call it a hunch. . .

I think retirement might be calling very strong, too. I mean, he had it very sweet with the Astros - almost like retirement. . .
