It's very easy to retract a bid. Just search on retracting bids on the help if you can't find any other way. It's against the rules to retract a bid, but ebay lets people do it if they state why.
I sell on ebay and I've had people bid and retract. I've even had them win a bidding war and then refuse to pay. It's unfair, but ebay cares more about buyers than sellers.

If you click on "help" and then either it will be listed on that page or you can type in retract bid and it will show you what to click on, it will say something like "bid retraction form" and then you type in the item number and the reason you retract it( you can say whatever you want, even if its not true) and then click ok and it will retract it for you. Don't do it too many times though because I found that it shows on your feedback page, how many retractions you have.
