As already stated a VPN connection will most likely be the solution. However most companies just do not hand these out just because it was requested. If your job does not require you to travel or you don't work from home I wouldn't expect your request to go through.

If you're working at a larger company, don't bother with Go To My PC. It's blocked.

Intranet is often setup to be only accessible from company computers on their network. You should as your companies local tech if there is a way to remotly access your companies intranet from home.

If this is so then log on to www.myivo.com (totally free service) and download the software from there and follow simple instructions. if u r able to configure it properly then u can connect to u r office pc in your web browser sitting at home.
