The AL East will be as hot as it has been every year the last few years.

The AL Central will also be a tight race. Unfortunately we can only have one division winner and one Wild Card. If the Sox can win the AL East, they have a good shot of winning the Series. If the Yankees win the series, they'll have to fight with a few other teams for that Wild Card spot.

If you compare lineups with the Red Sox you will see that clearly the Yankees are the superior team. The Red Sox are banking on an unproven Japanese pitcher who in reality is nothing more than a tripe A caliber player. He is a pitcher who is use to one start a week. He will now have to rotate every 5 days. The major league season is much longer so whether this kid can hold up come mid August and beyond remains to be seen. Schilling is old and he looks like it. Beckett had an ERA over 5 last season and Wakefield's knuckle ball does fool anyone anymore.

The Yankees have an incredible lineup that rivals any team in baseball including Japan! The will score 1,000 runs this year with no trouble and will light this triple A pitcher up like a roman candle the first trip into Yankee Stadium that he makes. I wouldn't be surprised if Boston doesn't even pitch him against the Yankees first time around. Nerves!!!

Yankees win it all in 2007. They have something to prove after last season and will be on a mission to be sure.

The Red Sox will win the World Series when David Ortiz wins a Gold Glove at first base, Manny runs out a ground ball, Schilling shuts his big yap, Varitek drops his mask and glove and fights like a man, and Francona takes that disgusting wad of tobacco out of his mouth.

Not this year, the Red Sox need more than one untested pitcher from Japan to build a team.

No way! They just don't have the hitting + J.D. Drew is a menace in the clubhouse for them. Add to that Manny being unhappy in Boston as well as a rising Jays team and u got the Red Sox a problem.

i wish... but i dont think so. they will make the playoffs, either win the division or the wild card. they are ok in pitching, and pretty much all set on the infield, except for Lugo's error frequency. But the outfield is whats gonna hurt them. Coco could get injured again, Manny still 'wants' out, and who knows about JD Drew. I think it could be possible in a few years. GO RED SOX!!!

It might but that depends on the health of Jason Varitek and the effectiveness of the bullpen. The team to beat might be the Yankees and the Dodgers.

As a Yankees fan ..
i no that you cant always buy a championship. Its whoever gets hot in cruch time makes the playoffs and pkayes the best. The best team does not always win .. its the tea that plays the best at teh particular time, October.

I doubt that they will compete this year for a World Series.
